Ingredients

  • 2 lb. ground beef
  • 2 large onions, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vinegar
  • 2 to 4 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
  • 1 1/2 tsp. cumin powder
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. red pepper flakes
  • 5 bay leaves
  • 1/2 tsp. allspice
  • 8 c. water
  • 2 (16 oz.) cans dark red kidney beans

    Brown ground beef, onions and garlic; drain fat.

    Add all remaining ingredients, except beans.

    Simmer 3 hours.

    Add beans. Simmer 20 minutes.

    Remove bay leaves.

    Refrigerate overnight.
