- 1/4 lb. smoked ham, chopped
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2 c. water
- 2 c. cubed potatoes
- 1 1/2 lb. fish fillets (haddock or hake)
- 4 c. milk
- 1 tsp. salt
- pepper to taste
Directions

1Saute the ham and onions in a large pot over medium heat until the onions are tender but not brown.

2Add potatoes and water; cook until potatoes are done.

3Add fish and cook until the fish may be separated in large pieces with a fork.

4Add milk and seasonings. (For a richer soup, substitute 1 cup of cream for 1 cup of the milk.)

5Garnish with finely minced parsley.
