  • 2 sticks margarine, softened
  • 1/2 c. vegetable shortening
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 5 well beaten eggs
  • 3 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. each: coconut, lemon, vanilla, butter and rum flavorings
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 tsp. each flavors (listed)

Directions

    Cream butter, sugar and shortening until fluffy and light. Add eggs.

    Combine flour, baking powder and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk.

    Stir in flavorings.

    Spoon mixture into tube pan or Bundt pan.

    Bake 1 1/2 hours at 325°. While cake is hot, pour on glaze or use brush.
