  • 1/3 c. celery, sliced
  • 3 medium onions, sliced
  • 6 to 8 carrots, sliced lengthwise
  • 3 potatoes, quartered
  • 1 1/2 lb. stew meat, cubed
  • 1 can tomatoes or beef broth
  • 3 Tbsp. tapioca (quick cooking)
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • pepper
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • bay leaf
  • thyme

Directions

    Mix all ingredients in Dutch oven or large casserole dish. Cover and bake as follows: 250° for 5 hours or 300° for 4 hours or 325° for 3 hours.
