- 2 lb. round steak
- 2 cans (8 oz) tomato sauce with cheese
- 1 c. water
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 2 large red potatoes, cut into eighths
- 6 carrots, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1 c. coarsely chopped celery
- 1/2 medium green pepper, chopped
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 slice white bread with crust, cubed
Directions

1Trim excess fat from meat and cut meat into pieces about 1 inch square.

2Combine all ingredients in a dutch oven, mixing thoroughly.

3Cover tightly and bake in a preheated 250° oven for 5 hours.

4Stir once or twice during cooking period.
