  • 1 c. water
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 2 large red potatoes, peeled and cut into eighths
  • 1 slice white bread with crusts, cubed
  • 6 carrots, cut in 1-inch pieces
  • 1 c. coarsely chopped celery
  • 1/2 medium-sized green pepper, chopped
  • 1 medium-sized onion, chopped
  • 1/4 lb. cheese, cubed
