  • 1 lb. hamburger meat
  • 1 Tbsp. shortening
  • 1 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1/3 c. rice
  • 2/3 c. chopped onion
  • 2/3 c. chopped green pepper
  • 2 large white potatoes
  • 1 can tomatoes
  • 1/3 c. water
  • 1 can whole kernel corn
  • 1/3 c. catsup

Directions

    Thinly slice potatoes.

    Brown meat and onion on top of stove. Add salt and chili powder.

    Make in layers of meat, potatoes, sprinkle with uncooked rice, green pepper and can of corn (drained).

    Add water and catsup and pour over mixture.

    (Do not stir.)

    Place lid on skillet and heat until steam comes out, then turn heat to low and cook 30 minutes.

    This recipe will serve 8 people.
