- 3/4 cup carrot, diced
- 1/2 cup onion, diced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 (10 1/2 ounce) cans chicken broth
- 1/2 teaspoon Chinese five spice powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 1/4 cups long-grain rice, uncooked
Directions

1Heat oil in pan and add onion, carrot, and garlic; saute until tender.

2Add broth, Chinese five-spice, salt and pepper, bring to a boil.

3Stir in rice and return to boil.

4Cover; reduce heat and cook 20 minutes.
