Ingredients

  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 lb. lean ground meat (beef)
  • 2 (1 lb.) cans tomatoes
  • 2 (10 1/2 oz.) cans tomato soup
  • 1 tsp. paprika
  • 1/4 tsp. cayenne red pepper
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 2 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 garlic clove or 1/4 tsp. minced garlic
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 cans dark red kidney beans

    Brown beef with chopped onion.

    Drain.

    Add tomatoes, soup and spices.

    Simmer 45 minutes, adding water if mixture gets too thick.

    Add undrained beans.

    Heat thoroughly.

    Remove bay leaves. Good served over cornbread.
