  • 4 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 can condensed milk
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 5 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • hot water

Directions

    Put sugar in top of double boiler and caramelize, stirring constantly, over low heat.

    Beat eggs.

    Pour out milk and use can to measure.

    Add 2 cans of hot water to the milk, vanilla and salt.

    Add to eggs.

    Add everything to caramelized sugar which should coat the sides and bottom of the pan.

    Cook in double boiler for 45 minutes.

    When done, the caramel is still around the sides of the custard and is like a sauce.
