- 1/2 c. cornmeal
- pinch of salt
- water (enough to make a moist dough)
- oil for frying
Directions

1Mix first 4 ingredients to make a moist, not sticky, dough. Pinch off a tablespoon (approximately) at a time and press into 5-inch patty, like a tortilla.

2Fry patties in heavy skillet, well coated with oil, until golden brown.

3Serve hot.

4Makes 1 1/2 dozen 5-inch loaves.
