Ingredients

  • 2 c. warm water
  • 2 pkg. yeast
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. oil (any kind)
  • 6 c. flour (more if needed)
  • 1 sq. cake yeast or 2 dry packets
  • 1 tsp. flour
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1/4 c. tepid water
  • 5 to 6 c. flour
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 c. warm milk
  • 1/4 lb. butter (melted in the milk)
  • 3 eggs
  • pinch of salt

Directions

    Mix together the first 4 ingredients.

    Blend thoroughly remaining ingredients.

    Add yeast mixture to blended ingredients. Blend in well.

    Pour into two greased 5 x 9-inch pans.

    Let rise in warm place until double in bulk.

    Bake at 300° to 325° for approximately 55 minutes.
