- 1 1/4 c. plus 2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour, divided
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. (1/2 stick) butter
- 2 Tbsp. vegetable shortening
- 3 to 5 Tbsp. ice water
- 2 c. sliced peeled apples (2 medium)
- 1/4 c. raisins
- 1/4 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
- 1 tsp. lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. ground ginger
Directions

1Combine 1 1/4 cups flour and salt in a medium bowl.

2Cut in butter and shortening with a pastry blender until coarse crumbs form.

3Sprinkle with water and shape into ball.
