- 2 c. self-rising flour
- 1/3 c. shortening
- 2/3 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Preheat oven to 450 degrees.

2Grease a 7 inch skillet or you can use a 9-inch cake pan. Combine all the ingredients in the bowl of a food processor, fitted with the steel blade.

3Process for 15 to 20 seconds.

4The dough will be sticky but do not add more flour.

5Spoon the dough onto a floured surface.

6Lightly dust the top of the dough with flour.

7Gently knead about 10 times.

8Pat or roll out to a thickness of 1/2 inch.

9Cut with a 2 inch biscuit cutter.

10Place in the skillet or cake pan.

11Bake for about 8 minutes or until lightly browned.

12Yield: 8 biscuits.
