  • 2 lb. stew beef (or use round steak, sirloin tips; whatever you prefer)
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 stalk celery
  • 6 carrots, cut in chunks
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. tapioca
  • 1 c. tomato juice
  • mushrooms (if desired)
  • raw potatoes, quartered (if desired)

Directions

    Cut meat into 1 1/2 inch cubes.

    Place ingredients in casserole dish in order given.

    Cover tightly with foil and bake 4 hours in 250° oven.
