Ingredients

  • 4 lb. extra lean ground steak
  • 1 lb. extra lean, finely diced smoked kielbasi
  • 1 c. finely chopped white onion
  • 1 c. finely diced green pepper
  • 1/2 c. barbecue sauce
  • 30 oz. canned dark red kidney beans
  • 3 (28 oz.) cans tomato puree
  • 1 Tbsp. dry cilantro (Spanish parsley)
  • 1 Tbsp. dry parsley
  • 1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
  • 2 tsp. chili powder
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. ground cumin
  • 1 Tbsp. canola oil or equivalent

Directions

    In a large frying pan, add 1 tablespoon oil and chopped onion and garlic.

    Saute on medium heat until lightly browned, then apply the ground steak.

    Put flame up high and keep moving meat around until browned (10 to 15 minutes).

    Turn off heat and set aside.
