- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 c. shortening
- 2 pkg. yeast
- 4 Tbsp. sugar
- 5 c. flour
- 2 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Sift dry ingredients.

2Cut in shortening.

3Add yeast to lukewarm milk.

4Mix milk and yeast with flour mixture.

5Knead. Roll 1/4-inch thick.

6Cut with small biscuit cutter (or cookie cutter; I use heart shaped).

7Dip biscuit in melted butter.

8Put two together.

9Let rise.

10Bake at 350° for 25 minutes, or brown slightly then freeze.

11Brown biscuits before serving.
