- 1 cup almonds, toasted and finely ground
- 2 2/3 cup flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 tsp grated lemon peel
- 1 pinch of salt
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp brandy or amaretto
Directions

1Mix nuts, flour, and sugar.

2Using a pastry blender, work in the butter until the mixture forms uniform crumbs.

3Sprinkle lemon juice and amaretto or brandy over mixture and toss together lightly with a fork until blended.

4Mixture should be crumbly.

5Lightly spread mixture into a buttered and floured 12 inch round pan with 1 inch high sides.

6Do NOT press into the pan.

7Bake at 350F until browned, 50 to 60 minutes.

8Let cool on a rack.

9Break into chunks before eating.
