- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/4 c. water
- 1/2 tsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. shortening (Crisco)
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 c. boiling water
- 3 to 4 c. bread flour
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup water and 1/2 teaspoon sugar.

2In large bowl, combine 1 tablespoon sugar, shortening, salt and boiling water.

3Cool to lukewarm and add yeast mixture.

4Stir in 3 to 4 cups flour; knead for 10 minutes.

5Divide in half.
