- 1 (10 oz.) loaf French bread
- 8 large eggs
- 3 c. milk
- 6 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. vanilla
- 2 Tbsp. butter, cut
- syrup
Directions

1Grease a 13 x 9-inch pan.

2Cut bread 1-inch thick and put in pan.

3Beat eggs with remaining ingredients except butter.

4Pour over bread.

5Cover and refrigerate 4 to 36 hours.

6Bake at 350° for 45 to 50 minutes, uncovered.

7Dot with butter.

8Let stand 5 minutes before serving.

9Serve with your favorite flavor of syrup. This is a wonderful brunch dish; especially nice because the preparation can be in advance.
