  • 1 c. flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. evaporated milk
  • 2 Tbsp. salad oil
  • 1 egg white
  • 6 Tbsp. water
  • 2 to 3 large onions

Directions

    Sift flour and salt together; add evaporated milk, salad oil and egg whites, beating until smooth.

    Add water, making medium thin batter.

    Peel and slice onions about 1/4-inch thick; dip into batter (coat well) and lower into hot fat (375°).

    Fry until golden brown.

    Remove with slotted spoon or fork; drain on paper towel and salt.
