French Onion Pie

  • 1 deep dish frozen pie crust
  • 1 (3 1/2 oz.) can French fried onion rings
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 c. milk
  • 1 1/2 c. shredded medium sharp cheese
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • dash of cayenne

Directions

    Fill frozen crust with 1 1/2 cups fried onion rings; reserve remaining 1/2 cup for garnish.

    Beat eggs slightly; add milk, 1/2 cup cheese, salt and cayenne.

    Pour over onions in pie shell. Sprinkle with 1 cup cheese.

    Bake at 350° for 35 to 45 minutes. Sprinkle reserved onions around edge of pie.

    Bake 5 to 10 minutes longer.

    Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
