- 10 oz. loaf French bread (without seeds)
- 8 eggs
- 3 c. milk
- 2 Tbsp. butter, cut in pieces
- 4 tsp. sugar
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla
Directions

1Grease a 13 x 9-inch pan.

2Cut bread into 1-inch thick slices and lay in pan.

3Beat all other ingredients, pour over bread and refrigerate 4 to 36 hours.

4Dot with butter.

5Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 45 to 50 minutes, until puffy and light brown.

6Let stand 5 minutes.
