- 1 3/4 c. coarsely chopped apples
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. soda
- 3/4 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. allspice
- 1/2 c. margarine, melted
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/2 c. raisins (optional)
- 1/2 c. nuts or more
Directions

1Add sugar to peeled and chopped apples.

2Let stand 10 minutes. Stir in melted margarine and beaten egg.

3Blend.

4Add to apple mixture flour, soda, salt, cinnamon, allspice and nutmeg.

5Fold in raisins and nuts.

6Bake in 7 x 11-inch pan (greased) at 350° for 40 minutes or until golden brown.

7Serve plain or sprinkled with powdered sugar.
