Ingredients: 2 c. sugar; 1-1/2 tsp. baking soda; 3 c. plain flour; 1 c. vegetable oil; 3 c. diced, peeled apples; 3 eggs, slightly beaten; 1 c. raisins; 1/2 tsp. nutmeg; 1/2 tsp. cloves; 1 tsp. cinnamon; 1 tsp. salt; 1 tsp. vanilla; 1 c. chopped nuts (optional)

1-1/2 tsp. baking soda
3 c. plain flour
1 c. vegetable oil
3 c. diced, peeled apples

1 c. raisins
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts (optional)

Directions

Sift sugar, soda, flour, spices and salt together in a bowl. Add eggs, oil and vanilla, mixing well. Add apples and nuts. Pour into greased tube pan and bake at 350° for 1 hour. Remove cake from oven, place in heavy brown bag immediately, close tightly and let stand until cool. This is delicious.
