  • 3 c. chopped raw apples
  • 1 1/2 c. vegetable oil (Crisco or Wesson)
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 1/2 c. sifted flour (plain)
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. chopped nuts

    Peel apples; chop and set aside.

    Pour oil in large mixing bowl; add sugar and eggs and beat well.

    Sift flour with salt, soda and baking powder.

    Gradually add to cream mixture; add vanilla.

    Fold in apples and nuts.

    Bake at 325° in 10-inch tube or oblong pan 1 hour or until done.

    Slightly grease pan.
