- 1/4 c. margarine
- 2 medium apples, peeled and sliced
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 head red cabbage, shredded
- 1 c. red wine
- 1/4 tsp. cloves
- 1/3 c. brown sugar
- 1/4 c. vinegar
Directions

1Melt margarine in Dutch oven.

2Add apples and onion; saute. Add cabbage, wine, cloves and sugar.

3Pour vinegar over cabbage first to prevent it from losing red color.

4Simmer, covered, for 1 hour.

5Makes 6 servings.
