  • 3 c. raw apples (Winesap)
  • 1 1/2 c. vegetable oil
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. chopped nuts

Directions

    Peel apples and chop. Set aside.

    Pour oil in large mixing bowl. Add sugar and eggs. Beat well. Gradually add sifted dry ingredients to creamed mixture. Gently add apples.

    Flour nuts lightly and add to cake mixture. Bake in cake pan or 10-inch tube pan at 325° for 1 hour.

    Glaze while warm with glaze.
