  • 5 medium size Granny Smith apples
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 5 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/2 stick butter

Directions

    Peel and slice apples thin.

    Arrange in bottom of deep-dish pie crust.

    Mix dry ingredients and spread dry mixture over top of apples.
  4. 4
    Cut butter in small pieces and place over pie filling. Put top crust on pie and pierce with fork so steam can escape. Bake at 450° for 10 minutes.

    Then reduce heat to 350° and bake until golden brown and apples are tender.
