  • 1 1/4 c. sugar
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 qt. tart red cherries, washed and pitted
  • double pie crust

Directions

    Mix sugar, flour, salt and cherries together.

    Line pie pan with pastry.

    Add cherry mixture and cover with top crust.

    Bake in very hot oven (400°) for 10 minutes.

    Reduce temperature to 350° and bake 25 minutes longer.

    Makes one 9-inch pie.
