  • 2 c. sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 3/4 c. shortening
  • 4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. allspice
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 2 c. fresh figs, mashed well
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. soda

Directions

    Cream shortening, sugar and eggs.

    Add dry ingredients and mashed figs.

    Mix well; add nuts.

    Pour into well-greased and floured tube pan.

    Bake 1 hour more or less.

    Do not cut for at least 24 hours.

    This freezes well.
