- 1 (3 to 5 lb.) tongue
- 4 c. cold water
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. diced celery
- 1/4 c. chopped onion
- 1/4 c. vinegar
- 1/4 c. sugar
Directions

1Wash tongue.

2Place in pot. Add remaining ingredients.

3Cover and bring to a boil. Simmer over low heat until tender, allowing about 50 minutes per pound.

4Let tongue cool in cooking liquid. Remove skin. Slice and serve cold or hot. Makes 6 servings.
