- 6 medium size apples
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 4 Tbsp. bacon drippings or any fat desired
Directions

1Wash and core apples.

2Melt bacon drippings or desired fat in a heavy skillet and slice apple rings into melted fat.

3Sprinkle sugar over apples and cover.

4When thoroughly heated, lower flame and smother until tender.

5It is usually advisable to turn the apples once or twice during the smothering.

6Especially good with pork or ham as a side dish.
