- 5 lb. green apples (Granny Smith)
- 3/4 stick butter
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. water
Directions

1Peel 5 pounds green apples (Granny Smith).

2Put 3/4 stick butter in pan and let melt on low.

3Cut up apples, discard cores and place in pan.

4Add 3/4 cup sugar and 1/4 cup water, cover and cook on medium heat.

5Stir occasionally.

6When apples are tender, remove top and let liquid evaporate.

7This is great for breakfast with Virginia ham and eggs.

8Also good cold with vanilla ice cream.
