- 2 2/3 pkg. dry yeast or 1 c. dry yeast
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 7 to 9 c. flour
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 6 tsp. salt
Directions

1Add yeast to warm water.

2Add other ingredients and let dough rise.

3Work into biscuits and drop into fat.

4This recipe will make about 7 dozen biscuits.

5They can be frozen individually and stored in bags.

6When you work them up, don't let the biscuits rise too high.

7The fat should be slightly hotter than 350°.

8If fat should be too hot, the biscuits will be soggy in the center.
