Ingredients
- 1/2 c. milk
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 tsp. salt
- 3 Tbsp. butter
- 1 c. warm water
- 1 pkg. yeast, dissolved in water
- 5 1/2 c. flour
Directions

1Scald milk.

2Stir in sugar, salt and butter.

3Let cool until warm.

4Add yeast; stir slightly.

5Add flour and mix.
-
6Let rise for 2 hours.

7Roll out and cut into strips 1-inch wide, 3 inches long and 1/2-inch thick.

8Deep fry in favorite shortening (no oil). Remove from fryer when browned; salt to taste.

9Will puff in the center.

10Serve with cheese, cold cuts, sausages and/or salads. Great for holiday parties.
