- 2 (8 oz.) pkg. Monterey Jack cheese with jalapeno peppers
- 1 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. ground red pepper
- 4 eggs, beaten
- 1 c. fine dry bread crumbs
- vegetable oil
- salsa or other sauce
Directions

1Cut cheese crosswise into 3/4-inch slices.

2Lay slices flat and cut in half lengthwise.

3Combine flour and red pepper; stir well. Dip cheese sticks in beaten eggs.

4Dredge in flour mixture.

5Dip coated cheese in egg again; dredge in breadcrumbs, pressing firmly so that crumbs adhere.

6Place cheese sticks on a wax paper lined baking sheet and freeze for at least 30 minutes.

7Fry in deep hot oil (375°) until golden brown.

8Drain on paper towels and serve immediately with favorite sauce.
