- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1 tbsp to 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
- 1 cup 1 1/2 cup cold water
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 salt and pepper to taste
- 1 vegetable oil
- 2 lb cod fish
Directions

1Cut fish into strips, about 1 1/2 inches wide.

2Place in plastic bag and season with salt and pepper, garlic powder and 1 teaspoon paprika.

3Toss until coated.

4Add in 2 tablespoons flour to bag and toss again.

5For batter, 1 cup flour, baking powder, baking soda, 1/2 tsp paprika, salt and pepper to taste, in a bowl.

6Whisk in water until batter has the consistency of pancake batter.

7Heat oil in a heavy bottom skillet over medium heat.

8Place fish in batter and coat evenly.

9When oil is hot, place fish in pan (do not overcrowd) do in batches, flipping halfway, about 8 to 10 minutes, until golden brown.

10Remove fish with tongs and sprinkle with salt.

11Place on wire rack.

12Serve with your favorite condiments.
