- 4 large ears fresh corn
- 4 slices bacon
- 1 1/4 c. water
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 2 Tbsp. cold water
- salt to taste
Directions

1Scrape corn; fry bacon.

2Drain all but 2 tablespoons bacon drippings.

3Stir corn into drippings.

4Add 1 1/4 cups water, sugar and salt.

5Bring to a boil.

6Cover and simmer for 20 to 25 minutes.

7Stir occasionally.

8In small bowl stir together cornstarch and 2 tablespoons cold water.

9Stir into corn, stirring constantly.

10Bring to a boil and boil 1 minute.
