- green tomatoes
- flour
- salt, pepper, sugar
- oil and margarine
Directions

1Slice tomatoes (about 1/4 inch thick) and coat both sides by dredging in flour.

2Heat oil in frying pan (about 1/8 inch) and melt about 1/4 cup margarine in pan.

3When oil sizzles when water droplet added, it is hot enough.

4Put floured tomatoes in pan and sprinkle with salt, pepper and sugar.

5When brown on one side, turn, salt and pepper again and brown.

6When second side is brown, remove and pat with paper towel to blot up oil.
