Fried Green Tomatoes

  • 4 or 5 green tomatoes (medium size)
  • 1/2 to 3/4 c. meal
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 to 4 Tbsp. bacon fat

Directions

    Wash the tomatoes. Cut off the top and bottom. Slice thinly. Roll in meal and fry in bacon drippings until brown on both sides. Drain on paper towel. Serve hot. Serves 4 to 6 people.
