- 3/4 c. self-rising flour
- 1/2 c. corn meal
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. pepper
- 1 Tbsp. vinegar
- 3/4 c. buttermilk
- 3 or 4 large green tomatoes, cut 1/4-inch slices
Directions

1Mix together flour, corn meal, salt and pepper.

2In separate bowl, mix together vinegar and buttermilk.

3Dip tomatoes in buttermilk mixture and roll in dry mixture on both sides.

4Fry in hot oil 2-inches deep.

5Turn once with tongs.

6(Do not use fork.) Drain in colander.

7(Do not use paper towels.

8Will make tomatoes soggy.)

9Do not stack tomatoes.
