- 3/4 c. self-rising flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. milk
- 1/4 c. cornmeal
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 3 or 4 green tomatoes
Directions

1Cut into 1/4-inch slices the tomatoes.

2Combine remaining ingredients and mix until smooth.

3Mixture may have to have more milk to make consistency of pancake batter.

4Dip the tomato slices into batter and allow excess batter to drip back in bowl.

5Fry in 2 inches oil (375°) in large skillet until brown, turning once carefully.

6Use tongs to turn.

7Drain in colander to keep tomatoes from becoming soggy.

8Stand up like wheels in serving dish.
