- 4 to 6 green tomatoes, sliced 1/2-inch thick
- 1 c. seasoned dry bread crumbs
- 1 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/4 c. milk
- 3 Tbsp. butter
- 1 Tbsp. cooking oil
Directions

1Combine sugar and flour; place on a shallow plate.

2Dip both sides of each tomato slice into the mixture.

3Combine the egg and milk.

4Dip each tomato slice, then dip into the bread crumbs.

5In a skillet, heat butter and oil over medium-high.

6Fry tomatoes until brown on both sides but firm enough to hold their shape.
