- 1 cup self-rising cornmeal
- 1/3 cup self-rising flour
- 1 cup boiling water
- oil (for frying)
Directions

1Mix cornmeal and flour in mixing bowl.

2Pour in boiling water (may need to add a little more to make mixture stick together.

3Stir well.

4Let cool for a few minutes.

5Preheat iron skillet or griddle and add enough oil to cover bottom of skillet.

6Spoon about 1/4 cup into hot skillet.

7Brown on both sides.

8Drain on paper towel and serve while still hot.
