- fresh okra, cut in 1/2-inch lengths
- 1 c. milk
- 1 c. cornmeal
- 1/2 c. flour
- oil (for frying)
Directions

1Pour milk over okra and let stand 30 minutes to 1 hour.

2Toss okra with hands to make sure each piece is soaked.

3Mix meal and flour with salt and pepper to taste.

4Drain okra and roll in flour mixture.

5Drop in hot oil and fry until golden brown.

6Repeat until all okra is fried.
