  • 3 c. powdered sugar (any brand)
  • 1/2 c. Crisco shortening (don't substitute brand)
  • about 4 Tbsp. milk

Directions

    Combine shortening and powdered sugar slowly with a small amount of milk, 2 tablespoons.

    Mix well.

    Continue to add remaining ingredients.

    The key to smooth frosting is good powdered sugar (no lumps); mix a long time for smoother frosting.

    Any flavor may be added to recipe (vanilla, almond, cherry, etc.). Choose only one for a different flavor; add only 1 teaspoon.

    This will frost a 9x 13-inch cake.
