- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 c. Sauterne Rhine wine
- 1/3 c. grated lemon rind
- 1/3 c. lemon juice
- 3 c. milk
- 2 c. cream
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 4 egg whites
- nutmeg
Directions

1Mix 1 cup sugar, wine, lemon rind and sugar; allow to stand until sugar is dissolved.

2Combine milk and cream; add wine mixture gradually and beat until frothy.

3Add salt to egg whites and beat until stiff.

4Add remaining sugar gradually, beating well after each addition.

5Pour milk mixture into punch bowl, top with spoonfuls of egg white mixture sprinkled with nutmeg.
