Frozen Fruit Salad

Ingredients

  • 1 (32 oz.) pkg. Jell-O (mixed fruit, strawberry or lemon)
  • dash of salt
  • 1 c. boiling water
  • 1 (8 3/4 oz.) can pineapple tidbits
  • 1/4 c. lemon juice
  • 1/3 c. mayonnaise or 2 c. sour cream
  • 1 c. whipping cream
  • 1 medium banana, diced
  • 1/2 c. seeded grapes, halved
  • 1/4 c. diced cherries
  • 1/4 c. chopped nuts

    Dissolve Jell-O and salt in boiling water.

    Drain pineapple, measuring syrup (add water to make 1/2 cup).

    Stir in gelatin with lemon juice.

    Blend in mayonnaise and chill until thick.

    Whip cream and fold fruits, nuts and whipped cream into gelatin.

    Pour into 2 freezing trays.

    Freeze until firm, at least 3 to 4 hours. To serve, slice.
