- 1 cup butter softening
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tsp. almond extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 cup finely chopped nuts

Directions

1Beat butter sugar until light and fluffy.

2Blend in almond extract.

3Combine flour and salt; add to mixture and blend well. Shape level tablespoonfuls of dough into balls; roll in nuts. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets; flatten sightly. Indent centers; fill with fruit spread.

4Bake at 400 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes or just until lightly browned.

5Cool.

6Makes 2 1/2 dozen cookies.
